Many athletes may have competed for the gold medal in a sports event, however, only one would win the coveted prize. To win, the athlete must prepare himself and discipline his mind and body. He must train regularly and set his gaze on the prize. He must be decided on winning. Remember, no one wins a silver; rather, you lose a gold. Train therefore to win. The Spirit of God, using similar illustration in 1 Corinthians 9:24 says, "…run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] {and} make it yours" (AMP). Do you want to have a great life? Then, there's a discipline to go through to win the grand prize. Sadly, many people are oblivious of this so they run the race of life without any sense of purpose. Don't run this race of life for nothing, rather, run to win the prize. By this, I don't mean that you have to pay some price to be successful in life. Remember that Jesus paid for everything you'll ever require in life. My point is, there's a discipline you must inculcate to live the kind of life you want. When you came to Christ, you left the bad for the good. Now that you're in Christ, you'll have to leave the good for the best. So you see, you're not paying any price, you just need to work yourself through discipline, for the best life. You have to make up your mind as to what you want for your life. You may need to change the kind of friends you run with to move ahead in life. I learnt from the Bible that if you walk with the wise you'll be wise but if you walk with fools, you become a fool too. So I don't want to be a fool and I'm sure the same goes for you. Therefore, make the right decision today. It's time to decide how far you want to go in your life and make the kind of changes that'll bring you to the place of your desire.
