How can I have peace of mind according to the Bible?
Isaiah 26:3 gives the formula: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee." Perfect peace is not the absence of storms but the presence of Christ. Fix your mind on Him, receive the peace Jesus gives, and let it rule in your heart.
The peace Jesus gives is explicitly "not as the world giveth." The world’s peace depends on circumstances lining up; His peace stands guard over your heart while circumstances are still loud. That is why He could say, in the same breath, "In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
Peace, biblically, is something you let happen — "let the peace of God rule in your hearts" — by choosing what your mind stays on. The scriptures below are worth memorizing; the devotionals alongside them will help you practice a stayed mind, one day at a time.

A Confession of Perfect Peace
The peace of Christ rules in my heart. My mind is stayed on the Lord, and He keeps me in perfect peace. I refuse to let my heart be troubled or afraid, for Jesus has overcome the world. I lie down in peace and sleep, for the Lord makes me dwell in safety.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the "peace that passes understanding"?
It is peace that doesn’t match the situation — calm your circumstances can’t explain. Philippians 4:7 says it comes when you replace anxious thought with thankful prayer, and it actively "keeps" (guards, like a garrison) your heart and mind in Christ.
How do I keep my mind "stayed" on God?
Give your mind regular appointments with the Word: a devotional in the morning, scriptures spoken during the day, thanksgiving before sleep. A stayed mind is built by rhythm, not by one-time effort — which is exactly what a daily devotional habit provides.
Can I have peace while my problems are still unresolved?
Yes — that is the very setting Jesus promised it for: "In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer" (John 16:33). His peace is anchored in His victory, not in your circumstances, so it is available before anything changes.
